By Anonymous "Well, I am pianist really. I don't have anything to do with guitars, amps and stuff like this. But I have a hobby. Recreating favourite rock tracks with the most achievable detail possible. These need a guitar of course, and I have used several techniques so far to do it with out a real instrument. My recent purchase was RealStrat which is exceptionally suited to my needs. Amplitube 2 which came bundled with it, was a major improvement compared to Logic's guitar amp pro but I haven't been able to get specific sounds from it. Amplitube seems capable of creating various guitar sounds but not the real thing. Although the program has a fancy and sometimes overwhelming appearance, it lacks the ability to deliver. I imagine that this might be the case with playing a real guitar through it also.
In my quest for real amp sound, I demoed Revalver. I managed to get a nice clean believable sound right away. Very straightforward, very simple. Just what I needed. No getting lost in numerous presets. Just put the elements in the right order and you have the sound. The most useful feature of Revalver in my opinion, is the impulse simulation of a speaker cabinet. I think it makes all the difference. And Revalver is great on the CPU. Logic is very happy with it . This means that I can have multiple instances of Revalver without problems and I can concentrate on the project entirely. It's so nice if you can get immediate results from a piece of software without exhausting tweaking. ReValver holds the secret to this, so far.
